Santa Fe Restaurant Week

Added on Thu Mar 03 2011

Santa Fe Restaurant Week starts this Sunday, March 6th and runs through Sunday, March 13th.

It's a once-a-year chance to enjoy specially created, multi-course dinners at amazingly low prices (two for $25, or $20, $30 or $40 per person) at some of Santa Fe's most famous and best loved restaurants. Just a few names to make your mouth water: 315 Restaurant and Wine Bar, El Ferol, Geronimo, Amavi, La Boca, Maria's, Andiamo, Restaurant Martin, Shohko Cafe, Vinaigrette, Cowgirl, Ore House, Il Piatto and so many more.

Santa Fe is on the forefront of the movement to make dining a sustainable and just experience through their participation in the Farm to Restaurant program.

There are also some exciting daytime events, such as chef demos and wine tastings. A few of our favorite offerings are listed below.

The Magic of Mole
Tuesday, March 8th & Thursday, March 10th, 12:00 pm
Epazote, 416 Agua Fria
(505) 988-5991

To food lovers, there is nothing that evokes the mystery of Mexico more than mole. Chef Fernando Olea, originally from Mexico City, has been a major promoter of Mexican cuisine in Santa Fe.  During this lunch event, he will introduce you to moles. This is not about hot and spicy food -- it's about well-balanced flavors, as ancient as the Aztecs and as sophisticated as French cuisine. $35.

The ABC's of Sake: Seminar and Tasting
Tuesday, March 8th, 4:30 pm
Shohko Cafe, 321 Johnson Street
(505) 982-9708

Ayame Fukuda, daughter of Shohko Fukuda and a Certified Sake Specialist, will conduct an informational seminar on the basics of handcrafted sake, covering sake grades, brewing, and food pairing. Sake tasting will be used to illustrate points in the lesson. Ayame's ABC's of Sake tries to de-mystify the world of artisanal sake from Japan, and is an excellent introduction to this harmonious drink that can be paired with all kinds of cuisines. If the guest stays for dinner that same evening, he or she will receive $5 off a bottle (720ml) or a demi (500ml) of sake from Shohko Cafe's extensive sake list. $10, by reservation only.

Learn Mixology from a Master Mixologist
Thursday, March 10, 05:30 pm
Secreto Lounge, Tabla de los Santos, Hotel St. Francis, 210 Don Gaspar Avenue
(505) 992-6300
